I love Bremen, but i just hate Snatch 3.

Delivery is also a good map imo.

And sw_oasis should be better than oasis

as always we learn that maps are a matter of personal taste, no science involved.

So personally I hate Bremen. usually play allies, and a decent axis team with an mg can turn this into spawnkill city. And a not very good axis team basically folds as soon as the main gate is blown.

BUT I know this is a personal opinion. I think there a re some maps (like Caen) which can be made into reasonably even/balanced maps by opting for the version of Caen where allies ahve an extra barrier to build - but of course there will be people who love playing axis on bremen for exactly the reason i have just described, who love getting 300+ xp from spawnkill when they play it, etc etc etc ...

All of this really brings home to me how rare maps like oasis and goldrush really are. Truly balanced maps where an mg or arty can't necessarily change the whole experience ... Bremen is not one of those maps.

Tim maybe we can wait more few days and try to change bremem or other map for the maps from TLR maping constest, this contest will bring some new maps exausted tested to the ET world and i think they will be pretty decent when it comes to final version. The plan is they need to be released at final version at the end of this month.

The real problem on Bremen as you say is the mg42 in axis, shooting from door to the allie spawn.
By the way, mg42 is now disallowed in official war. Should we do the same on TE666 server ?
Exept this, I think bremen is a good map. Caen is a fun map. And there one thing intersting in this map : the Axis attack.

Rod, of course we can wait. Sounds interesting.

I agree with leak - caen is a good map, basically - especially because the axis have to attack. I just think the other version with the additional tank barrier makes things a little more even and interesting - gets it closer to the level of goldrush, which is such a great map precisely because allies have FOUR barriers to blow.

Should we disallow mg42? I don't think so ... mg42 is useful for axis in goldrush and it can be useful in fueldump too ... shame to ban it. are there other versions of bremen we can look at, or is there only one?

i didn't know that. ban mg42 in bremen and problem is solved Smile

but i still think the other version of caen is worth trialling.
