Get ETadmin along with ETpro, your members get adminlevels without having to know referee, rcon or semi-admin passwords. Would make it easier for you to watch over the server.

Na na na.. not every1 can have a level or referee... If there will be lvls a lot of ppl will be like " please please gimme lvl 1 pleaseee". The way we have it now is ok. As Saibo said earlier, he can give to ppl who he does trust. Problem is that noone will sit for 24h on server to look after it Wink

True, but that doesnt mean you have to give them a level Smile

Im just saying it would be easier in some situations, you could give kick command for some members without giving away the referee password.

But oh well, you got your system and we got ours, what ever works for you.

This has happend a few times in the past.

If it can be done... why not just remove the option for players to vote kick/mute. but keep the teamkill complaint vote.

I actually think that would work, but what about when there is no admin on? Then nobody can be kicked so some nobs will ruin the game, could drive people away from the server?

Well yeah but keep the teamkill complaint option. so not much sum1 could do to ruin it, spam/uneven teams maybe.

I was thinkin more spawnkilling? AFK players in the teams? I think its a good idea but you just gotta think about when no admins are around. Also what about when te666 players are around that dont have powers? They will get fed up with some of the shit surely.

Maybe its worth a try over like a week or 2? See how things go and then decide.

I see did not think about the AFk players, but you cant vote to kick players from diffrent teams. So spawnkilling is a given when admins are not online. Maybe ask sum1 to vote them for you.

just a idea as you said might be worth a try.

Cant AFK players be kicked after a while anyway? So maybe just shorten the time that it takes for them to be removed.

I think we should give it a go.

no matter what rules we have what options there are in the game, the human element will always be there it cannot be removed thus we will always have an imperfect system. dont beat yerselves up about it to much, its just the way it is

Uh... Im not trying to change things, Im just giving suggestions. What do I care if you have adminlevels or not, its not like Im gonna get anything out of it. I was just trying to help to solve your problem. Im sorry if it offended you >_>

And btw, I dont think its a good idea to remove kick votes. If there is no admins around and for example a cheater happens to be on the server, how are we gonna get rid of him if theres no vote kick. If theres someone calling votes to mute or kick TE666 members, then ban him lol.

I think Hates suggestion isnt bad. I've been in a clan with the same system and it worked very good. And with the rule "Don't ask for levels or you get muted" you can also get rid of the guys who are asking for lvls all the time Wink
But I think it would be a bad idea to remove the kick and mute vote, because there would be no chance to kick spawnkillers and afks (that was already said) or to mute some assholes who are insulting all the others.

Re: Clan Leader?

Post by PORNSTAR on Sat Jun 20, 2009 8:31 pm

lets be honest tho how often does a vote get passed? the fact durex got voted mute was probably more of a mess around as hes a member of the clan sort of rage against the machine type of thing

the et admin mod is very useful as it means you can give out commands for different members for instance
it is more comfortable to give a member a level where they can only do specific things rather than either they have ref and can do everything or they arnt ref and cant

but having had a go at installing it on etpro its a bit of a pain a lot of messing around etc
and some have mentioned players asking for levels sometimes it comes down to members asking for an extra level so they can do X command as they feel they should be allowed it
of course not to suggest that someone in te666 is that way inclined but just an observation of what ive seen in the past

its a tough one to weigh up as the server is generally quite a stripped version of the average server which is what appeals to ppl imo less lag and stuff and has worked this way for 4 years (maybe more?)

i think by adding et admin mod youd have to go through stripping out the killing spree stuff and getting the XP save to work for the 10 map campaign and as well as other stuff as it fixes stuff that perhaps ppl dont want fixing just to keep the same feel of the server in place

I think its working fine having semi-admin and ref, so why have ET admin? Its exactly the same, semi-admin gives some powers, so on et admin that gives some powers... So why change it? And if its like pornstar said a pain in the arse, then why bother? Its not like theres anything wrong with how it is now?

But i think removing kick and mute should work, coz really like pornstar said how often is a vote passed? Very very rarely do i see a fair vote passed on any server, and you get a lot of nobs voting to mute people or kick people that have done fuck all, so i would say give it a try over like a week or two and see how things are going, it can always be removed....

Installing it on etpro is a pain? Duh, ETadmin was basically made for etpro because its the only major mod without adminlevels. Sure its some extra work to get it running but if you have any experince on it at all its easy, takes only maybe an hour to set up at most, and a few hours of testing.

But like I said it was just a friendly suggestion, Im not trying to force you to etadmin.

And btw, what Niiber suggested works too, but it requires votes from half of the players on the server, and I seriously doubt we can make them type that in console when they dont even know what it actually does lol, and its already hard enough to make everyone press F1 during a real vote.

Btw, if I understood correctly most of TE666 members dont have ref or semi-admin status, so how is it gonna help if they are on the server if they cant kick anyone? Correct me if Im wrong.

true but afaik saibo only goes on the server once a week normally and probably doesnt want to spend his allocated et time installing etadmin mod if it runs as smoothly as you say it will

i know et admin mod was designed for etpro........ and in my experience it was a pain in the arse esp modifying it and having learnt my server knowledge from an admin running one of the most popular servers on 2.56 (second to or on par with te666 at the time) i have no problem there ^^
